Experience Another Culture!

You can do it in Middletown by hosting a
Rotary Youth Exchange student!
The purpose of the Youth Exchange program is for students from other lands to visit the U.S. to learn about America and share his (or her) culture with Middletown High School students and their families.
The main requirement for serving as a host family is to provide a caring home in Middletown. We are currently accepting a new student for the 2011-2012 school year.
Over the last few years, we have hosted wonderful exchange students from Germany, Brazil, Japan, India, and Yugoslavia. Over the years, Rotary Club host families have enjoyed tasting exotic recipes, sharing family photos, seeing how people live in other lands, understanding our cultural differences (and usually also learning that we are fundamentally the same!)
Many of the bonds created through Rotary Exchange last for decades. Some host families have visited their students' families years after the program ended, enjoying a very warm welcome, and seeing a new country through an entirely different prism.
For a a description of the program and a list of recent students see our Youth Exchange page.
