Gift of Life Card Game:  The pot is now over $200 - Fred Mackowitz and Jack Fleming thinned the deck.


Hi-lo Card Game:  Michael Frechette took the high with a full house; Frank Sumpter had the low.


Happy Dollars:  Ken Vaughn - welcome guests, MHS undefeated swim team season; Patti Vassia - guests and a senior moment Jeff Haines - daughter's selection to perform in a play:  Michael Pitruzello - safe trip for MHS swim team; Michael Frechette - guests; Pat Lyman - seeking transportation assistance for Willy; Lois Martin - for aquarium project.


Speaker:  Frank Sumpter introduced Representative Joe Serra, 33rd district.  Joe spoke about the activities of the Select Committee on Aging which is advancing:

  • Act concerning nursing home oversight and staffing levels
  • Act concerning Silver Alert Program (similar to Amber Alert, 7,000 "missing" seniors reported in 2008)
  • Act concerning Grandparents raising grandchildren, seeking to raise state subsidy to the same level as foster parents
  • Act concerning criminal background checks for home companions


Ken closed the meeting, as always, with the 4-way test.
