Azumi's Introduction Speech at Middletown Rotary

Hello. I am very glad to meet you. I am Azumi Hattori.  I came from Komaki City Aichi Prefecture in Japan. Komaki is next to Nagoya City.

I am in the third grade of the Komaki high school now.

My hobby is listening to music. I was taking a lesson for piano, when I was an elementally school student.  I don’t take a lesson now. I’m sorry. I can’t play the piano very well.

In high school, I was a member of Student government.

My family is father, mother, younger brother, grandfather, in my five-person family.  In father’s occupation, he is a priest of a Buddhist temple.  The grandfather is a priest too.   The temple name is MYGUONJI.  The temple was built and 680 years were received last year.  It was built in 1326 in the Christian era.   My grandfather is a priest of a Buddhist temple of 40 generations in this temple.  Father is 41 generations. Younger brother plans to become 42 generations.   And mother is a full-time housewife.  Her hobby is Tea ceremony, Flower arrangement and Calligraphy.  Younger brother is in the first grade of the Komaki south high school.  He is a member of the track & field club.

It has not been understood where Connecticut state is to tell the truth when destination is decided.  I consulted a map at once.  Connecticut state was near New York and I was surprised very much.

I have a lot of things that look forward during this year.  High school life in the United States.   Time spent with host family.  Exchange with international students from other countries.

I want to participate in a lot and please call me.  Moreover, I want also to introduce the culture of Japan to everybody.  I want to develop myself.  I want to enjoy my exchange student’s life.

Thank you very much.
